Neutrinos have mass

Today arrived the official confirmation of the oscillation phenomena of neutrinos http://press.web.cern.ch/press/PressReleases/Releases2010/PR08.10E.html.

This means that they have mass, that the lack of neutrinos from the sun is only apparent (so our sun models are not in danger) and that the Standard Model is creaking like an old wood house . I would not be astonished if neither Brookheaven and CERN did not find the Higgs boson .

P.S.: somebody must start shopping for a tail coat... they will need it in Stockholm.

Latego if the end  of the Standard Model is near (i think it is) then i think our Sun model (and many more things like the Big Bang and so) is probably false too !

Things much more exciting like supersymmetry and strings are coming (and perhaps super simple and ground shaking ones like the holographic model).
