Not shure how usefull this is to everyone..
What about adding a distance from camera to wherever the mouse is pointing, and displaying it next to the other info ?

There is a window which shows this info. It's under the View Menu, 3D Preview Location.

I'll tell you what I really would like. Highlight on mouseover in the boxes. Saves having to double click/drag.
