Interesting. The SEM microscopes I am familiar with (I actually used one back in 1979 to capture images of gecko toes) only produce monochrome (i.e. B&W). Electrons don't have "color", only photons do. So I am wondering what they use to apply color to the images. Perhaps they used electron energy to code for color (a pseudo coloring method). Because of this, they seem to me to look more like CG than real SEM images.
