If you have time i would wait. Intel will bring a new chip set in early 2011.
The new İntel processors will not compatible with the mainboards now on the market .
They will maybe a little pricey . Especially the the the new mainboards .

This is the old dilemma. Waiting or buying now and the price positions etc.
It is up to you .

For intels's newest (not yet released) processors you're going to have to wait two years before they become anything like affordable for normal folk, the cost of one of the new processors is likely to be around the same price as a cpu/mobo/ram bundle is today, in other words at least £500+ for anything half decent.

What kind of buying strategy he has is up to him. But i am more concernet about the mainboard chipset.
My mainboard is maybe 1 (or 2 ?) years old and doesn't support  i7 CPU's (ASUS P5Q Turbo ) .
Now there will be new CPU's and they require a much newer mainboard then the i7 supported ones .

Not nice from a buyer perspective . But then all is about money !

AMD is a little more user-buyer friendly from this aspect . But maybe only why the are behind Intel :)
