Hi all,

When I first open up Terragen, I click on Generate Terrain, and create a heightmap that i want to use in my 3d engine. However, i am not sure how to export it to a valid image file... ie a jpg or a bmp.

How do i export it to a popular format?

thanks

Simon

Right-click the Heightfield Generate node in the network view and choose Save As. You have the option of saving as TER - a Terragen terrain format supported by many heightfield editors and game engines - or EXR. EXR is a high accuracy image format used by the visual effects industry. You can convert EXR to TIFF, JPG, and other formats using a compatible image editor such as Photoshop, Cinepaint (free), etc. You can also use the free TerraConv to convert a TER file to TIFF: http://koti.mbnet.fi/pkl/tg/TerraConv.htm
