Hi unfortunately Terragen 2 doesn't yet support SSS which I think you would need to create "hyper real" icebergs.

It's been done. It requires a high translucency and tricky lighting. I am not sure how to do it.

Here's a post to Kevin F's tgc  http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8673.0

And the search   http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?action=search2  just type in 'ice'

@reck   Before doing shading & lighting ,first i want to create high detail model.
njeneb Any idea abt procedural modeling or image mapping modeling of iceberg.Thanx for link.

Both techniques would work. I favor procedural myself. Perhaps using several height fields, some power fractals for details, and the twist and shear shader would do the trick.

Those Dylan Cole / Cosmic Motors collaborations are awesome, literally. I am in awe every time I look at them!
If kevins ice wasnt such a render ravishing *!*@(!)** we would be seeing so many beautiful ice renders...
So yeah, TG2 can do it... but not with a magic "make awe inspiring ice" button!
