Hi all,

I'm a seasoned 3D and Game Environment Artist who has recently been introduced too Terragen 2. I was looking over the NWDA site and came across this link:
http://www.nwdanet.com/terragen-tutorials/45-terragen2-casestudy.html

Does anyone have a tutorial or a break down of how to create a planetary landscape like this? The "case study" mentions posting the actual file soon but no go. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That would be the owner of the NWDA site. He made that landscape and the case study. He often drops by the forum.

Hi,

I may be wrong but as I read the "case study" it will be available for purchase at the NWDA site.

Frank Basinski, or FrankB as he's known here, did intend this rock shader to be available for purchase, but for reasons which he may explain himself if he notices this thread, he's decided not to issue it at present.

thanks for stepping in everyone!

Hello Pectabyte,

I have developed the rock surface used in the case study. As a product, it does what's shown in the study, however some early user testing showed that it requires some more tuning, especially with regards to simplification to make this useful for even intermediate users. It's still in my backlog of products to be released, and even went through a couple of improvements since then. But it is definitely functional.

If you are interested in discussing your speciic use case and needs, feel free to send me a personal message either at this forum or through nwdanet.com.

Best regards,
Frank
