How did you achieve this lighting? Second atmosphere or extra AO enviro light?

I just checked the GI in the render tab. The camera exposure level was increased to 1.575. I let two cloud layers scatter the sunlight. It rendered very dark shadows without the clouds.

I'll be posting the final image in about 6 to 8 hours. I changed the lighting and clouds (the clouds above look better than in the render running now.) I hope you guys like it.

Phew! That's a vibrant surface, Henry!
Maybe it belies the light from the sky, which doesn't seem quite strong enough to create this vibrancy but extremely nice work! I like it a lot.

I tried something new in this one. I added a power fractal to the rock surface layer (the lighter, whitish areas). The difference was stretching the power fractal on the x and z axis to 5 and shrinking the z axis. I also use the color offset, reducing it.

I was messing around with the tgd. This came out accidentally. Changing the fractal noise type to perlin billows, then reducing the strata slope and plateau amounts make interesting hills.

I like what you've done here Henry. The one thing that could use some improvement is the lighter (almost white) color dispersed over the elevated terrain. Can't tell if this is snow or rock coloration.

I wanted the rock layering to be high contrast. That worked, but the layering sort of 'ran' together, like stirring coffee and creamer. That I did not want, but I did not mind it. Also the lighter rock reflected the sunlight to appear much whiter than I intended. Again, I did not mind too much.
