my attempt at fog...I tried to use the cloud follow terrain but it didnt work as I expected....
its still wip, so bare with me....

Nice, 'Lord of the Rings, kind of' start. Is that a simple shape I detect? If you apply cobblestones instead of snow, and a group of people, and some trees and bushes and more variety in rock, it's going to be a very nice one.

its not simple shape...the terrain is from geocontrol 2 and I used the vector feature to make the road but the road turned out to be much wider then it looked in GC2.....

Well, you could do this with a (warped) simple shape shader merged with the terrain and set to 'highest'.
