Extract displacement info

I was wondering if there is a way to extract (x,y,z) displacement info from a power fractal?

if there are no overhanging parts, you should be able to create a greyscale-map.
the most easy way would be to apply an all black distribution shader and then a white distribution shader with min height = min terrain and fuzzy zone = max terrain.

what exactly are you planning to do with it? There are a few other ways i could imagine.

Yes, what are you planning to do with it? What exactly do you mean by "extract"? Do you mean export, or do you mean use the displacement info within TG to influence another node?

yes I am trying to use  the displacement info from one fractal to influence another. Unfortunately, it is not only taking displacement info but also the color info. If I turn off "Apply Color" then the displacement is not applied.

I think that's not correct. If you turn off the colours in a powerfractal then the displacement is still being generated.
Just add a powerfractal terrain in a default empty scene and check. No colours applied there.

I still don't really understand what you want. What do you want to influence? What are you after? It sounds very cryptic to me :)

It sounds like you may be feeding the Power Fractal output into a node that accepts color and outputs displacement, in which case it would make sense that turning off Apply Color gets rid of the displacement. Seeing a screenshot, clip file, or TGD of your specific node setup and more full description of what you're trying to accomplish would help figure this out.
