I liked the clarity in the first version a bit better, but a big improvement is that the depth is more convincing now with this thicker atmosphere (I'm primarily comparing the middle one with your first version).
Besides that the displacements look better too.
Pretty cool work, the foreground steep feature reminds me a bit of the Venezuelan steep rockfaces depicted in pixar's Up. Only difference is is that you were "slightly" ahead of them
