Just a little experiment with stratas. Rendered in exr to maintain the details in over exposed sky.

P.S. - It would be a good idea for TG2 to save alpha channel automatically when you save as exr.

I try the break up the layering a little these days. The distribution shader work best; you can eliminate the lower 'valley' areas quite easily. Makes a nice area for scree and or sand to build up.

Check your Temporary files, it should have the alpha saved automatically (File > Explore Temporary Files)

Or

When viewing the completed render, press the "A" key to toggle between the complete render and the alpha channel.. (Also "R", "G" and "B" to view each channel individually)

Or

Render as Sequence with the "Extra output images" box checked.

I was talking about saving alpha automatically into exr from render window (when you hit save button). I wasnt aware of retrieving alpha from temp folder....thanks
