Here is a tgd I put together for Folder. It's a simple canyon setup. I explained the terrain setup using the new note node. I hope it makes sense to everyone. I am not always good at explaining things.

Try moving the nodes between the compute terrains up and down. The color tabs will also alter things greatly. The power fractal connected to the redirect shader will make steep, higher canyon walls by increasing the displacement offset.
