Hi all,

Thought I'd register here as I'm starting to find my way around Terragen 2. This is my first go at creating a scene after learning some of the basics in a tutorial. There is some Photoshop involved like adding the birds and some color tweaking. Also cropped it a bit. Some people on another forum complained about the letter box border but when I tried a full border it made it look weird and kinda ruined the panoramic feel. Ah well, no biggie. I went for a pretty surreal look in this, hope you like! :)

I find it very fun to use Terragen to make dramatic scenes like this as I'm a photographer and enjoy shooting landscapes. The learning curve seems pretty steep but I'll probably get the hang of it eventually. :) Feel free to give some criticism, I need it!

btw I dont mind the border/format...looks fine to me!

Completely agree with Jason.
Sometimes a border makes it work better actually, IMO.

Looking forward to see your next work!

I think the border is fine. Even with a HD monitor, some movies have this border.

Very good first post! You'll get better, and I look forward to seeing more.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

Great image, fantastic mood. Don't know how the habits were in your other forums, but around here and especially from me you get a "great image" only when it actually is a great image in my opinion ;)

Nothing wrong with the image border, too. Looking forward to seeing your future works.

I think you'll notice that this forum is very open and helpful. Any specific questions and we 'all' dive into it  ;)

Agree with everyone else. Lovely image and the borders don`t spoil it, they enhance it . I have also used this idea before on a couple of my Paint.Net images. What you could also do is give the image a name and write it on the bottom border using a nice font. This would help to break up the blackness a bit.

I like the golden, low sun here as it adds nice warmth to the scene.
