Hi

How do i hide (permanently) the Shader preview window. I noticed it goes away when clicking on one of the menu buttons in the top toolbar (example camera button) but allways reappear when clicking on a fractal shader or the cloud atmosphere node.

I included a screendump of what window i mean.

It can't be done. The preview window will always show when there is something to show. Nodes that contain no texture or terrain info will show nothing, all other nodes will always show up in the preview window. I agree it would be nice to have a choice to get rid of it, pause it or hide it.

Why hide it, it is very useful to see what node settings do.

elscorpio

Because it starts rendering the minute i click on the node and it is only a small window.
I would like to be able to choose when i want to see the preview, i want to be able to disable it and then just use the show in new window from the shader window.

I only have a 2 core cpu and if the shader preview is rendering and the rendering preview, well then the system is pretty busy.
Of course now i am using the workaround which means clicking on another category (example...camera.) then the window goes away.

Yeah I think it would be nice to have it customisable

You can open a separate window to view this. Check the view menu.

That's true and a feature i use a lot and with the workaround i mentioned it's allmost perfect.
