The geotiff would not contain displacement data for the mountain side. I believe geotiff is an elevation map only. To get the rough, craggy surface, you'd have to use redirect shaders and displacement shaders to approximate this surface.
If you can find photos showing this angle, you might be able to produce some nice image maps for the displacements.
