Snowy Mountains

Newbie and a huge request.
I just started at a new company and no one has touch the copy of terragen they have (what a waste).
So when the chance came up for creating some snow covered mountains for a short I said I would give it a try.
And well I have to idea where to start as I'm coming from a After Effects background.

Any help, tutorials or even projects would be amazing.

Or are you looking any specific looking mountains?
