Another terrain (made in WM some time ago), with another (Dutch) train. Soft shadows on, that's why the shadow on the foreground is so nice and smooth. Dandel0's grass, on the background.

Wow, it looks really realistic. My only crit is that the terrain that's supporting the bridge looks kind of fake :( I don't know why but it looks like terrain out of a video game. Everything else is great :)
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

The bridge looks a bit blocky but the rest is great -lots of points of interest. I like the area on the left.

I like the tire tracks in the foreground. There are trestles that were built about 1900 in my area that look like this. Railroads often went for economy rather than grandeur in the more wild areas.

It is difficult to be critical on this one. Superb realism throughout.

Exactly, Henry. I got the idea for the bridge from an old photograph of a US bridge around that time in a steam locomotives book. Very economic indeed, just a slim iron 'beam' on top of some pillars, and the sleepers on top of that, even sticking out at the sides.
The 'dike' indeed looks a bit simple, I'll have it changed.

I like both scenes but favor the second one. I would be tempted to change the color of the taller grasses to more of a drier shade - like, a light tan color.

I like the second render better. You have 'Push-Me-Pull-You' style trains? Good idea!
