What's LGM? Next one will be including a polar cap, rendering now.

sorry, it was a 'tongue in cheek' comment, LGM are 'little green men'...I am looking forward to seeing the progress...

Looks nice , Dune!
Lowering the ice high-scale ? Maybe a little artistic license and putting the Lander half in a sand dune?

If i live long enough we will see pictures from the real Viking lander maybe some day. Wonder how it looks now really!

Liking the ice, especially the little bits all broken off on the left hand side of screen there.

I think Mars has a more dense atmosphere than I depicted here, but I like the clarity somehow, and the polar cap nicely glows. It's all imagination anyway...

Only the ice is a bit weird now, might want to have another go at it.

I like this one; and, wondering if because of the high CO2 content in the atmo, whether or not some vapor mists would emanate from the ice.

It's the dust storms that lighten up above the ice, but perhaps there are no dust storms across the polar cap, but I liked to try the 'radiance of light' out.

You need to make a moonscape, right? The basic ground is just a billowed PF, with some color fractals added after compute terrain, hardly any more displacement. The rocks near the ice are a set of fake stones on a surface layer that is set to favor depressions, and the ice is on a layer set to displacement intersection, with some ridged displacement added.
