I recently purchased a new computer: HP Pavilion a1740n, 4 GB ram, 320 GB HD, and it runs Vista. The problem is that when I try to populate a grass clump population my computer locks up. I have tried a simple 1000 X 1000 area up to 21000 X 21000, Object spacing from 10 up to 75, Blade size from 1 to 9. I'm nor sure if this is normal, but my grass blade are white when I first populate them so I blend them with an image map. No matter what size of area, blade size, or spacing I have, as soon as I blend with the Image map I can kiss it goodbye.
Is this a glitch? Or am I not doing something right?
I used to render with T2 on my Dell. It ran on XP and I never had a problem with populations on it ( thats a lie

I never had problems with blending grass clumps with an image map).
If I am doing something simple wrong, tell me. I'm not to set in my ways to change.
Thanks for the help.
Jim
