Hi, not posted anything for ages but thought this might be worth it. Just an exercise in object placement and composition essentially.
I've noticed that when objects are small and "life sized" that it's often very difficult or impossible to select them by mouse cursor alone and I had to resort to the pull down selection menu. However, even when selected some objects just don't move in any direction. This is very frustrating because you then have to release the mouse button and lose the selection, meaning you then have to select and attempt to move all over again. The only way around this I've found is to make the objects and hence the overall scene much larger than life i.e at least 10 fold. Objects are much easier to control at larger sizes. Is this a bug?
Anyway comments welcome.

Kevin i think it is an interesting image i like it!

The bricks on the wall does make all other things look very small.
There are maybe such bricks i don't know , but i would make the bricks 2 or 3 times more smaller.
The Drums do not have smoothing on and i am not sure (especially the right one) about their texture ; it looks like front projection to me?
And maybe sun light with " Do soft shadows" on would be better. But it would render longer too.

Very nice! You should also try rendering it with more bump on the stones; they're very flat. Or perhaps with RayTraceObjects off. And soft shadows would be good as well, I agree.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Don't know what you mean about smoothing. The objects come with image maps and smoothing's not an option. Your right about the right drum I changed the projection type from UV to front in order to get rid of the creases in the originals. Update will show this.

Soft shadows was on. Set at defaults.

Do you mean the "bricks" on the floor? if so I'll add a displacement map to them.

Cheers.

If you made all objects 10 times bigger you should use higher settings too , to see them as intended , i think ?

Reminds me a lot of Half Life 2  ;D
Mouthwash? We don't need no stinking mouthwash!! [MI2]

I would dump the frontal bricks; they look much better, but still not as good as the rest. And the back wall would be better, IMHO, if only textured by fractals, with displacement, like a plaster wall. There's no depth in it (yet).
But in principle it looks very good.
