Yeah excellent first render. Good balance of sand and rocks. Really like the 3 rocks piled on the right.

The only thing I don't like is the (seemingly) un-natural shapes of the rocks on the right side. I do like how you placed them though.
I would love to see an animation where the camera stays put, but the boat moves across the water and perhaps there could be some movement of the clouds.

I can almost hear the soft breeze and the sound of birds off camera now.

Seriously, keep it up.

Also, add complexity to the terrain, it's still looking fairly plain and you can tell it's a rendering still.
