That is a very hot looking planet. Ok, cool looking planet. I really like the subtle shading outside the illuminated areas.

Pentagular Dark

How come that little moon isn't still active? Other than that great render
GAH!!! Don't look down here! Look at the posts man!

Fantastic renders, really different and well executed.

Thank you guys. It's still a WIP so things might change. Actually, I have already changed the moon slightly, will update soon.

This is looking really fantastic. I wonder how it holds up to a closer view, hehe.

It should hold near orbit and even closer. Im using same lava shader as in my volcano scene, except with some slight adjustments, but anyway. I'm working on other parts of the scene before making final renders...

Here's an early near orbit render from pole, made before the other ones..

Inspiring work freelancah  :o would love to be able to do these shots!

One question though. What can you do about the blue atmo, where the planet meets space? I read part of a conversation on another thread that lead me to believe its a complicated matter. (Upper right of the planet)
It has been eaten.

TheBadger; You can edit your atmo colours easily to anything you like with the colour settings for bluesky horizon colour in the main tab and the bluesky/redsky density colour settings in the tweaks tab.

You also have an option to use another colour for the envirolight(GI/AO) in the atmo's lighting tab, and also, the 'ambient' setting in the tweaks tab lets you choose yet another colour for the main body of the shadowed atmosphere, this is defaulted to black but any colour can be used here, too. :)
