Not sure about this...........any suggestions?

I would add some fake stones to break up the creek bed. Add some more plants for variation. There are lots of things. Experiment with different terrain features. If you used a paint shader for the creek, this can be used as a mask for more terrain features. You may need to use the invert shader checkbox.

This is a good start. Keep working on it.

The stones are there, they are just not big enough. Showed up in the preview, disappeared in the render. I'll keep plugging along.......

Thanks for the comments.

It has a nice basis to start from. What I would do is; add a couple more species, make the size difference of the existing ones larger, set the initial angle of the main object 2-4 degrees off, get just a slight hint of yellowish and gray (dirt) in the snow, make the banks into half molten ice (and perhaps some larger rocks), and do the same with the water until you only have a section in the middle or so which is open water.
This looks like a warped simple shape; if you add another PF with smaller scales and smaller displacement, you get a little rougher watersides, which might be interesting. You can use the same principle of warped simple shape to get other elements in the water and on the banks.
Looking forward to your next iteration...

Was playing with this last night, trying different things. Couldn't be satisfied with anything I did............so I went off on a tangent, got a really stupid idea in my head. This is the end result.

I am not finished with this pic...............just clearing the cobwebs.
