So, I go to sleep now, and tomorrow before noon I decide for the 4 winners. That gives everyone who is still hesitating another 12 hours from now on :)

Great initiative and idea, Frank.
I'd love to blow some wind through the trees but I think I couldn't make much of a scene to join in with. Never much good at making a decent render, just at mucking around! :D

Good luck to all, should be good to see what comes from this, can't wait to watch. Some great applications, already.

Markal

Hope I'm not too late. I love trees especially free ones.....

You wanted close ups......................you got it.

Dune

Come on, guys... there's more posters around who can make nice veggie renders!

Henry Blewer

I have the pack. I have a render ready, but it will take days. I need  the new computer, yesterday. I'm getting more parts Friday.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

FrankB

No Henry, you don't have the HQ Pine Pack. You may have a few of the free low res pines.

This image is the result of the opportunity to use the new, latest high quality pine trees by Walli and New World Digital Art (NWDA). Four of us were chosen to pick and choose four of several pines and use them in an image.

So, here are the elements that constitute the composition I call 'Alone':

•   Three populations and one individual model of Pines models numbers 10, 14, 18 and 27 (from NWDA).
•   One population of ND01 grass model by Walli (from NWDA).
•   One population of Mouse Ear model by Walli (from NWDA).
•   One population of a Dry Grass patch model from an old acquaintance.
•   One population of Dry Shrub #08 model by Walli (from NWDA).
•   One population of Dry Shrub #09 model by Walli (from NWDA).
•   One individual human model scanned (Sasha) from Artec3D - Thanks to 'Inkydigit' for the referral on this : Artec Group Inc. <div xmlns:cc="http://creativecommons.org/ns#" xmlns:dct="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" about="http://www.artec3d.com/gallery/3d-models/"><span property="dct:title">3D models in this gallery</span> (<a rel="cc:attributionURL" property="cc:attributionName" href="http://www.artec3d.com">Artec Group Inc.</a>) / <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/">CC BY 3.0</a></div>

I've asked a few friends to make some critiques on this image. I've taken their thoughts as good criticism; but, did not make any changes to this original. Hope all of you do the same and come up with some of your ideas.

Some crits, Bob, if you don't mind (stated rather bluntly, sorry for that): your grass is floating, the figure is much too big and/or your trees are much too small, the detail of the tree up front isn't the best to show/use. And you should give your tree objects just a tiny angle of 2-3 degrees. It will be a great one though, I'm sure.
