After a loooong forced break from terragen I finally now have enough time on my hands to make a scene. The rock surface some needs work as does the lighting and water, but those changes can be worked on without too much trouble. As always suggestions and commentary are most welcome.

Luc

Very well done, good vegetation distribution and nice POV

Maybe you could try to add more color variation on rocks

Like!

Got to be a bit bigger though so I can see all those great details at the shoreline.

Cheers;

Why? Rocks should look like the rocks. This image has rocks that look like rocks. Adding more variation will only make them look like different rocks. These rocks rock :P

Thank you for the kind comments! I've done some subtle work on the rock and I think it breaks up the monotony of the previous texture. The water was easy to fix as well however getting an interesting lighting setup is always a bit more tricky for me than playing with some fractal textures. If I can get some fixes in place I should be able to have a nice 2400 pixel version posted sometime tomorrow.

The lighting in this was tricky to get right.

Very nice, DV. The only thing that bothers me are the tree trunks; they are very fat near the tops. And perhaps reduce the blueness of the atmo a bit. I really like the POV and coastline, and rocks and distribution of the trees.

Gannaingh

As promised, here's a big one. I like this one a lot better, although I still might throw in some clouds to add some interesting shadows on the terrain surface.

I really like how you improved the rock faces.

The High quality render is very nice. Would like to see some DOF work. Maybe blur the closest parts of the image to the camera just a tiny bit. Might help, might not.

tree tops look stumpy and not real make smaller branching at top, trees not just end if real.
