If that is a problem, blend the population by a simple shape shader defining the area you want. Or use a distance shader, or painted shader...

That was problem only when I didn't notice it :) Used painted shader.

Here's 4000x2250 version: http://www.melnworld.com/tg2/rakka3%20large.jpg

I also plan on making some kind of time lapse animation of this :)

Your quest for realism has reached it's point ...very impressive.

An absolute stunner at this size, Mor. It shows so much better than the smaller size. One minor thing; a few fake stones have flat tops, but it seems hard to not have at least some, and I still wonder why that is.
What is the heather bush, did you make it, is it XFrog?

Mor

Thanks a lot for your kind comments!

Yes I noticed the stones and as you say there almost always seems to be some of them so I didn't even try to get rid of them, because I was happy how all other stones settled. That "heather" is a combination of three different populations of Walli's dry bushes and one population of leafless bush from terragen.org. I've always wanted to get descent heather object as it would be very usefull for undergrowth.

Awesome! Tuttua maisemaa :P

Its very very good. Love the way you have managed he transitions between scrub, bush, rocks. Very nice indeed.
Only weak point for me is the small population of tree samples, which allows you to see that they are rotated copies of each other.
IMHO this lack of diversity in tree populations is bothersome and something I would like to try to fix (in general).

choronr

A friend once told me that setting the rotation at 351 works out better than 360; also, some have suggested that setting some 'tilt' to the population by working with the X and Z could yield better results.

Dune

There will be an interesting feature in the next build regarding rotation....

Matt

Ulco, features that are in alpha testing won't always be included in the next public release.
Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Sorry Matt, I'll keep my mouth shut from now on.
