all work by me, vegetation by: Lightning, Mr Lamppost and Klas (thanks!)No postwork, just jpegged.
thanks for taking time to view/comment/critique etc., as these are always welcome and appreciated.

McNistor

Nice.
There's one problem though. The tree's scale seems off: too small.

Dune

You can't really tell. Perhaps the rocks and bushes are rather large. It's no problem I think. If you make it bigger it might take too much attention. The only thing that I would change is some more color variation; perhaps bleached dry grass to get more drama in the foreground.

TheBadger

Lower the horizon a little.
It has been eaten.

Mor

Nice barren look. Difficult to say does it need anything changed.

Kadri

I like this , inkydigit  :)

No sure if this needs other adjustments...
Maybe TheBadger's suggestion about lowering the horizon and Dune's about the colors...

Luc

Maybe rocks and floor could have more color variations ?

Else already a nice picture

thanks everyone!
I did have some thoughts about the the tree size, and this was about the scale I wanted(and it is one of my favourite models!) I may experiment with fov/pov etc, as for the rocks and surface colours, maybe I need to rethink my technique (pretty quick and easy to control) but maybe need some less subtle changes!
I will attempt another scene with a similar theme...(along with the billions of others I have in my mind!)
I will keep you posted....
cheers

cheers Z...I forgot to say, I thought someone might have liked/disliked the clouds...I was very happy with the wispy cirrus effect....serendipitous to some extent, but logically planned!!!

The clouds fit the scene beautifully. I'm in agreement about the dried grasses and other plants; need to adjust the colors such that they contrast more against the ground/rocks. In all, a nice composition.
