hi everyone, any help with this would be very appreciated.  I took the nwda procedural arch and added it to a ter called distant mountain. the idea is to create a series of desert scenes like those found in the american southwest.
how to i manipulate the arch to make it more natural
can anyone help me change the shape of it --- anything others can share will be eagerly awaited also any better way to  combine two scenes. i just attached the arch to the top of the terrain section .  this is  great file and i have been itching to use it but so far have been defeated

see picture below   also any scene sugggestions would be appreciated

thanks folder

you now need to apply fancy displacements. Be careful that the patch size in your compute terrain node is very small, like 0.01, otherwise (for some reason that escapes me), the displacments will look funny.

So next step:
- check patch size
- i.e. add a surface layer, minimum altitude at where your arch begins, and add a powerfractal with displacements to it. Be careful about the feature size and the displacement amplitude. It's better to use the measure tool to measure the rough dimensions of your arch before applying displacements.

"This thing needs some displacements" was the first thought that came into my mind when looking at it. So I agree with Frank (how could I not!)
The second thought was "... and some light bouncing from the sand below!". But to be honest I have no idea how to exactly achieve that. There are plenty of experts on that around here so maybe one of them will chime in and share his/her knowledge.
