Hello Everyone

My Names Martin, I'm new to the amazing world of Terragen 2.
I' a semi-pro photographer here in Scotland and have recently come across terragen after reading many articles about it in Advanced Photoshop.

When I say I'm a semi-pro photographer, I actually have another day job which involves me sailing world's oceans as a Navigation Officer onboard an LNG Carrier. I don't get much time to take photographs when at sea, so I tend to work on my P.S skills by creating photomontages. I love the look of the fantasy art you see on Deviant Art, and I have always wanted to be able to create my own.

So yesterday I downloaded T2 from the website along with the documentation, and I'm now just waiting for my keygen to arrive to unlock the full power of T2.
I ve been browsing the internet looking for tutorials in how to sculpt and create me very own landscape. I ve seen many terrains that one can download, but I have a vision in my mind of a specific landscape that I want to create. My only problem is that I don't know where to start.

I have completed the tutorial on creating the mountain scene Ben McDuff.
I enjoyed it very much, but now its time for me to begin creating my very own scene.

Can someone point me in the direction that I need to go in to start creating my own masterpieces?

Thanks for looking guys

Welcome to the forum, Martin. You will see that this is a very friendly community with lots of help at hand. But your question is a bit vague; there are so many ways to start a scene. It really depends on what you have in mind. Let me also add that there is a wealth of information in all the older threads and posts, you can also use the search function to find information about your keywords. Reading, reading, reading, dissecting other tgd files, experimentation. That's the best start. Good luck!

Dune!

Thanks for your reply! I'll give the search engine a crack and see what I can dig up!

When I said I was wanting to start creating my very own land scape I was getting at mastering the Heightfeild generator to sculp my own terrain.
I was thinkiking of creating a viking long boat making landfall near some jagged rocks with mist over the water shrouding the boat and the rocks.
Something medieval or that sort of theme.

The rocks, I would like to be towering high and very angular, sharp and mennacing looking.....

Just need to figure out where to start........ I begin my search today!!

Cheers

Another Martin, and in Scotland, too! Welcome. :) Terragen seems to attract Martins and Franks, I think I'll change my user name to Frank Martin.
Where in Scotland are you? I'm in Perth.

Martin.

It's true :-)
But there is only one Frank (me) and then Franck (mind the ck). Frank and Franck are different enough so that Seth and I can coexist in piece, and also there can be only one of each, so...

But with you Martins it is much much worse! It is like there is some "Martin inflation" going on somewhere. It's creepy, someone should do something against you lot! ;)
And then one of em wanders off to China, and as soon he has turned his back on us there is the next Martin coming round the corner, .... unbelievable.

Wait, I'll have a joke for you in the open discussions forum in a few minutes :P
