Here's a call out for more brown shrubs, grasses and trees and mostly WEED TGO's.
Weeds are everywhere in real life yet, in TG2 we are offered great looking trees, bushes and flowers.
Yeah, I know there are a few example weed type TGO's....but, they are very few!
A realistic image....a photorealistic image would have weeds.
I don't know how to create weeds but, I know there are some excellent vegetation artists out there who could do this. Please make weeds like dandelion, sage brush, dollar weed, crab grass...etc.
I'm counting on others expertise and generosity to help my images (and other artists) to become more realistic.
Thanks,
Mark

Walli's Dry Shrub pack is available at NWDA. They are really good. I use them often.

I use a dry bush pack also, but I sill agree with the OP. Also, I would like to see some more exotic plants, for example It would be cool if some one would do a set of mushrooms, big ones! http://media.photobucket.com/image/alice%20in%20wonderland%20mushroom%20forest/loaloauk/photo7-1.jpg

Also, speaking of weed, how about weed? http://medicalmarijuanaguide.com/100_0808_0001.jpg

Not my garden by the way! Seriously though think of the possibilities! :P

Hey Markal, I have been giving serious thought to buying SpeedTree Studio 6, if I do, and I can learn to use it (Have to decide if I think its worth it) I will post a ton of stuff.

To everyone who has posted free stuff, and the things that are not free but very affordable (I know its not easy or fast), thank you! :D I use your stuff, and as soon as I make something with it that Im proud of, I'll post it for you.

Happy rendering!

LMAO :D :D That thread link you posted is really funny, Martin! Also, thanks for the plant, I have a file on my comp with DandelO as the name. I bet a lot of people do.

Hope we are not taking away from your thread, Mark, you made a good request that I and probably many others wanted to ask for too. Just wanted to expand on it.

Take what models you have and experiment by using color/texture image maps you have; or could download and use them to make those models look different to suit your project. Example: many times, I have taken Walli's dry bush pack and replaced the image map to make a shrub look like a 'sage brush'. I've changed his 'Mouse Ear' to have different colored flowers to replace the default 'white. You can extend what you have just by replacing the image maps.

Mr. Lamppost's grasses and bushes are very good models. The materials are a bit too saturated. It's not too hard to re-touch these so they look great.
The best use I have made with his plants are in low light conditions. The colors are very strong, so they won't fade out much. I think these are available at Terragen.org.

Mr_Lamppost

It's been a while since I've been in here.  Just in now looking for something in an old post.

My grass and bush packs available from www.mrlamppost.com There was a problem with large file uploads for a while so they never got added over at Terragen.org. There should be threads linking to them in the object sharing section here as well.

The default materials are quite lush and saturated but that suited the scene I was working on when I made the packs and as you say it is easy enough to change the materials to whatever your scene needs. If I have made them faded and going brown everyone would have been saying they are not green enough :)
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.
