This might be old news.  I don't know.  Hope it helps someone.

This was mentioned by someone in the Luxology forums.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Tangled-Universe

Perhaps I have to read it more carefully or once again, but is it me or is this quite cheap?

rcallicotte

This is quite cheap.  I have yet to read it thoroughly to see if there's a catch, but I don't think there's a catch.

Indeed.

One big catch = No TG2 :(

If we only had some similiar thing to this, just for terragen: http://www.renderfarm.fi/ I could certainly put my quad server up since its mostly idling anyway :P

rcallicotte

Maybe he hasn't considered setting it up yet for TG2.

I added them to my IM, but so far they haven't accepted my invitation.
It's just 1 day, so let's wait a bit longer.

rcallicotte

I'll send an email request today about Terragen to see what someone says.

Got an answer from Garage Farm (yah-hoo!!!) -

Hi,

I think we will purchase Terragen in next couple of weeks and should get it working soon after. Is that OK?

Best Regards

They've been doing a very good job for me last week !
I will definitely work with them again if needed.

Seth can you reveal any details? What kind of animation did you pay them to render and how much did it cost ? Length?

I ask them for a desert scene, 30 seconds length.
the resolution was 2000x2000.
it took, let's say four days to get the complete animation. between 30 minutes to 1 hour per frames (the longest render time was 5,5 hours ^^)
As for the price, I can't be precise because it was the producers' job but let's say around 800 to 1000 dollars.

Anyway, I really liked working with them, because they gave me "realtime" feedback and were very precise on the render testing.

edit : you have different prices based on the priority you want for your render

Tangled-Universe

In my experience they're also very helpful and trying to think along with making your deadline(s).

When can we see this?   :P
