Thought it was fun to try and see if I could turn my hurricane into a planetary explosion/implosion ;)

You did good! That definitely looks like something very bad is happening to the planet. I wonder how it might look if the explosion was a bit more red/orange and fiery looking, but the white you have right now portrays extreme heat very well already. A rather successful experiment IMO.

the bright white explosion/implosion sort of reminds me the end of Akira when Akira re-appears and creates a new universe with his powers.
