Ok, for anyone following my work on Ashundar, you'll have seen all of this, since it's on my gallery there:

Ok, since I last put an image up on the forums I've done another ten or so renders, here's a list of the ones I think are worth seeing:

Planetfall: http://www.ashundar.com/CPG/displayimage.php?pos=-3977

Archipelago: http://www.ashundar.com/CPG/displayimage.php?pos=-3983

Highlands: http://www.ashundar.com/CPG/displayimage.php?pos=-3986

Sunset Hills: http://www.ashundar.com/CPG/displayimage.php?pos=-4009

I have others on there, but those are my favourites.

I also have a contest entry on my gallery, feel free to vote for it, but please also consider the other entries and vote for those accordingly and without bias.

I'll update this thread and bump it whenever I add new renders.

Enjoy!

Planetfall reminds me of some movie I've seen.  I like it.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Neat, nice job man :)

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

*bump*, two new images added.

Beautiful and believable textures, great clouds, and nice lighting.  Love the work you've let us see.

Another two new images.

BTW> I'm trying to get some procedural stalactites and stalagmites, anybody got any ideas?

I suppose I might be able to do it with fake stones...

rcallicotte

I like your procedurals on the terrain.  Great job!

I guess you could play with small radius crater shaders and try negative and positive displacements.

ProjectX

nah I need them procedural. Guess what! First attempt and it worked!

Fake stone shader restricted to undersides, tallness 15, size 25, looks perfect!

Just need to adjust distribution and we're set.

rcallicotte

When you say procedural, do you mean functions?  Crater Shaders are procedural...at least on the programming end.  TG2 is procedural by nature.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

old_blaggard

I think he means he doesn't want one shader per stalagtite - he wants one shader for all of them.

ProjectX

Sorry I meant repeating, not procedural. It's alright though, it's sorted now.

rcallicotte

Anyway, can't wait to see it.  Will you post the results here?

ProjectX
