Hi guys,

Not posted much in a while, but here's a quick test I made the other day.
Slightly stylized in treatment, displacement done in zbrush and vegetation in a speed-tree eval.
Hoping to do a set based on this region.

Hope you like it.

 :) Cheers guys

I know I've not been commenting Ulco, but I'm enjoying your Medieval city development, and following the thread. some of it reminds me of Game of Thrones.

This one was mainly down to testing some new techniques for terrain generation and layout, for the kind shots I've got coming up at my day job.
Hopefully the next one will be a little more varied and interesting.

Hi Chris,

Nice WIP (I suppose?) :)

I've been to that area last September and in some respects you've reproduced it pretty well.
Most of the karsts are not that steep and spiky though and vegetation is quite different with much Bamboo for example.
On my facebook I have some pictures showing the karst's shapes and vegetation, so if you like feel free to add me and have a look.
You should do that anyway ;)

Cheers,
Martin

I hope its a (WIP) too. Its a great image! But it leaves me with a feeling that there should be more. Perhaps just more real life detail as T-U said? Or maybe its a fantasy image like from avatar... Whichever, Its missing a little something.
It has been eaten.

Thanks guys,

Sorry Martin, I'm not on facebook, still in that small minority  :)

But you are both right, this is not at all a factual portrayal, and was meant just as a test of a few techniques I'm playing around with, as well as evaluating some software for the studio in order to give feedback.

The next one will hopefully be more detailed  but different again as a lot of this is about experimentation for me right now, but I'm away from my beloved machine over the holidays, so it will have to wait  :'(
