New year, new renders! I was just testing things and ended up this.

Used objects:
- Xfrog Grand Firs, 2 populations
- Marc Gebhart's dead conifer
- Marc Gebhart's winter birch

The lighting is spot - on! ; Very realistic...

There is a lot to like in this image, good job.
It has been eaten.

A striking picture with good scale and atmosphere. Perhaps a few dead trees here and there would even make it better.

There already is quite a bit dead standing trees, which definitely added a lot to this image. Even more of them could be improvement. Most clearly seen in the lower right corner.

(I added straight link to the full size image into the first post)

Maybe taking and changing the 'needles' of the conifer to a tan or straw color; then, do a small population (widely spaced) of these trees. They would stand out much more than those without the needles.

Oh yes, I didn't think that option at all :) I'll give it a try.

Here's an update. I added one population of grand firs with needle color changed. Also other fir populations are now sitting better on the ground as their terrain node was earlier compute terrain node and now latest PF. Now also other dried dead trees are more clearly visible here and there.
What you think, should there be even more brownish firs?

very nice mor, i like the snow on the mountain-steps. beautifull.
the only thing that falls into my eye is the treesquare below the mountain.
it looks a little bit geometrically. but i'm new here and a newbie on terragen. so rate my criticism not too high :) thanks

Mor i think it is very good but you can make it better.
Not sure if you will agree but i think a little more variation in color and rock texture-shape would make this great  :)
