How to make a path

There's been a lot of road and path images posted lately and I was wondering how one accomplishes this.  I'd like to be able to make dirt paths.

Can the road pack be tweaked to look like a dirt path, or some other material?

You can easily use the (warped) lines of a simple shape shader as masks for the dirt, and inverse masks for 'no dirt', to say it simply.
