Hello,

I have always been puzzled about how one imports a .obj or .lwo / .3ds object, and retaining all the colors, etc.

I have DAZ3d and wanted to import a figure into a scene, but when I do it is all gray.

I have never really known how to do this, even back to my bryce days, so I figured someone could give me some tips perhaps.

If not, no worries, I'm plenty busy making worlds :)

You need to make sure that wherever your OBJ comes from, it includes an MTL file, and that the textures exist and the paths in the MTL (a simple text file) are valid. TG2 generally doesn't like spaces and especially not special characters in MTL texture references. Ideally the textures are in the same directory as the model that is being loaded, as well. Sometimes it can help to pass an OBJ model through Poseray (a free download), which seems to produce TG2-friendly OBJ files. If you do a search for Poseray here in the forums you'll find more info.
