the french belief system does not say that men come from ape nor that they are created by God.
we say that we do not know.... and that is why there are so many scientifics looking for proof, solutions, explainations...is that answer good enough for you ?

Yeah. That's good enough. I think a lot of Americans would say that too.
Eliminating the die-hard religious people and the hard-core evolutionists,
many of the remaining ones would claim that they are waiting for proof.
But I am certain that many of those would not (want to) recognize conclusive
evidence if it stared them in the face. Most are not even looking for it and
are afraid that it will find them. Many think that there is some sort of
political or racist basis for claiming that man evolved from apes. I think
that the thought that our species may actually have an origin is either
totally unimportant to them or the knowledge of it has some dire social
consequences. To me, the truth is just simply what is and what was and
damn the paranoid.

I saw a video on YouTube posted by a really stupid man that was very proud
of a relevation he had and wanted to share it. He claimed that his mind
does the creating of the things that he wants. The example he gave
was that, when he hunts a deer, this caused the deer to come into being.
The moron never thought about why certain extinct species are never
"created" by his mind because he really never thinks about unself-centered
things like that. He claims that all these devices that modern man have
invented to sense and understand the environment around him do nothing
useful at all and merely serve to enslave people to the ruling class. The
existence of people like this that don't exibit human intelligence only
reinforce my belief that humans evolved from apes. Nothing I say should
indicate that I look down on apes. I think that many apes are actually
more intelligent than many humans. Just because they do not have the
speech centers that evolved in humans to commicate their thoughts
doesn't mean they are not intelligent. Speech was a mechanism that
evolved in humans to communicate information. These parts of the brain
aren't used to do the actual thinking just as keyboards, mice, speakers
and video monitors don't do the program execution in computers. They
are merely subsystems for communication just as speech is in humans.

Seth

that is not a stupid idea, that is metaphysical solipsism.
and I agree with the rest of your post.

did you manage to read some C. Owen Lovejoy's writing on evolution ? :)

Haha, brilliant and so true ;D

rcallicotte

It's really a sign of "devololution" (evolution backwards).

I have done a little research on who he is. Looks like he has taken a
significant role in studying human evolution. Over the years, I have
avoided reading about human evolution both because there is so much
emotion surrounding the subject due to ego-centrism and because it is
such a narrow subject. I find evolution of archosaurs and other ruling
reptiles so much more interesting. At the moment my wife and I are
reading a great deal about the war in the Pacific as we are taking our
next vacation to Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. We will also be on
Viti Levu, Fiji, for five days looking for native birds.

My next book (indirectly) regarding evolution is by a French paleontologist
named Sébastien Steyer titled "Earth before the Dinosaurs". Follow the
link to the page below to find a website about this research. I quote
him here because he expresses my sentiments well:

"As most of the Vertebrate Palaeontologists (VPs) in the world are currently
working either on dinosaurs (incl. birds or not) and what happen after
(incl. primates and preferencially ourself - easier to get money!), I prefer
working on what happen before dinos: I like the groups nobody cares like
the fossil amphibians."

However, I am a die-hard dino fan. It is what got me into CG in the first place!

Steyer's website contains a 3D landscape reconstruction of what the pangean
coast might have looked like after the "Great Regression" around the time of
the Permo-Triassic boundary. It was created using Terragen.

When I get time I will read something written by C. Owen Lovejoy.
Thanks for the information.

Seth

thanks for the link !
I truely love dinos ^^

Sorry about the flaming, everyone. Not cool of me.

Also,

IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!
Florida man strips naked, bites off chunk of another man's arm

FOX/AP
A Florida man was arrested Wednesday after stripping down, biting a chunk of flesh from another man's arm and resisting repeated attempts by police to subdue him with a stun gun.

Charles Baker, 26, went to his girlfriend's home to visit his children Wednesday night while under the influence of an unknown substance, WFTS-TV reported. When Baker arrived, he barged in and began yelling, taking off his clothes and throwing furniture.

Jeffrey Blake, who lives in the home, attempted to restrain Baker, but Baker fought back by biting a chunk of flesh from Blake's arm.

Blake managed to restrain Baker until two police officers arrived on the scene, though Baker refused to respond to the officers' orders.

One deputy deployed his electronic control device after giving a verbal warning.

But Baker resisted the shock, prompting the deputies to use the device three more times before several other officers arrived on the scene and were able to subdue and handcuff him.

Baker was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton for evaluation before being transported to the jail.

It was not immediately clear what substance Baker had ingested, but Florida has played host to a recent spate of bizarre behavior by people under the influence of synthetic drugs marketed as "bath salts."

In related news; My friend Jessie, in an abundance of caution, has sworn not to wash him self anymore. I then informed him he should not visit  me anymore.
It has been eaten.
