I've build a planetary ring set to share with the world. Its basically a rock population with a mild reflection shader on top of a fractal terrain.
The planet in the pictures below is created using nvseal's barren world tutorial: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=2747.msg27929#msg27929
The star field background (moodflow) can be found here: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4391.0

Sorry to be the only dunce in the last year and a half to ask this (*blush*) but I'm only 2 days into TG and cant figure out how this ring system works. I got the clip file inserted fine, but then what? The outputs are supposed to go somewhere? Confuzzled!

Thanks,

Dean

many thanks for sharing your file  :)

cheers

@dsueck; I don't want to sound patronizing, but don't think it is very wise to dive into TG without studying the basics first. You're literally diving into deep space here. But to answer your question; you just have to start populating. It's a pop that sits on a power fractal 'hanging in space' as far as I can see, so no need for any connections. After loading just look around by moving into the preview and you'll find the rings.

Thanks Dune!

Your advise was just what I needed. They popped waaay waay off screen so didn't find them at first.

I've been a professional computer consultant for over 30 years but can still miss a lot of simple and stupid stuff :)

PS THANKS MUCH TO THE OP FOR SIMPLIFYING OUR LIVES! : 8)
