I like the little rocks on the ground. If you could give more of an impression of sand by using some really tiny fake stones or something, I think that would add a lot to realism. The clouds look too full to be in a desert and parts of them seem too smooth, which screams CG. I would try to tone down their depth and try to add some smaller bumps to add realism.
