Mountains in distance

I've been trying to balance the haze density to get a good sense of depth without masking the detail. I combined a few dirrerent TER files to give the mountains some variety. I've been learning a lot from you guys. Keep up the good work.

superb background, a bit more foreground detail would be nice. Try adding another powerfractal with small settings to breakup the foreground. Also add a few extra surface layers to the grass to break up the colour a bit.

Also, perhaps some grass populations or shrubs?

other than that it's great.

Lovely clouds, Paul.  I also like your trees, but I agree with ProjectX that the grass could use a bit more variation.

Paul, the clouds, the distance, the grass and terrain are all wonderful.  The trees look really good, but some variation in size and distribution would help.  Evergreens tend to grow in bunches.  Check out some pictures on Google to get some real world...you're just about there on the realism.  I love it.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I like it.
It has a photographic quality.
The grass is not quite there, but close.

I like it to ;)
Do you mind sharing the settings for the clouds?
They are realy nice

Thanks for the kind comments and advise. I did notice that the trees look more like a Christmas tree farm than randomn growth. I'm trying out the the density shader for
populations but every time I use a greyscale JPG as a color shader, it locks up.  It seems to work OK with a Power fractal but I have no control of the clump area locations. I've worked long on the grass with image maps and the only method that did not give me blurriness is using a very small size but that makes it too fine and uniform. Here is the Cumulus settings. This is a modification of a clip file I downloaded from the forum.

Thanks for sharing ;D and keep up the good work

Why do you need control over the object placement?

when you use a image as a density shader make sure you have the correct projection. i think is "Y". if its through camera, every time you try to populate, it will close, at least that happened to me.
