My attempt at an eclipse. had one a while back, and felt like trying to do it in TG2. I made this and never rendered it back in may or june.

I like it. You nailed the diamond ring effect and the clouds add a nice touch of drama.  If you're going for strict realism I'm not sure you would see the stars?

Yes very pretty.

But I would do another one too. Where there are no stars. both would be good to have.

As a fun random trivia, there are actually three suns in this setup. :D

I have tried this once or twice, not with spectacular results.  But I found it works best with a close in, large thick atmo'ed planet with the sun perched right on the limb.  Produces an almost rainbow effect and some interesting atmo effects on the home planet as well.
They're all wasted!
