Thanks TU!

I just dug out the first green Mars I ever made back in school!

Merry christmas to all of you!

Well, it´s still a bit retro compared with the last ones, but I think there is some improvement since the late nineties

Another winterly version.
C&C are always welcome.

I love how big Olympus Mons is. Just look at that sucker sticking out of the atmosphere. Crazy-ass mountain, hehe.

Wet but cold: a white Mars. I thought I needed something different.

Looking forward to TG3, I could use that Vortex-shader!

Haven't looked for a while in this thread...seems I really missed something...great work!

Mahnmut

Thanks!
Oshyan, do you mean the greenish white or the white white Mars?
With the latter I am quite content with how the iced over ocean came out, but the land seems flat, I tried a lot with reflectivity and displacement, it is just white. probably that´s realistic for that distance and lighting.

I think the "flat look" is difficult to fix. I think the easiest way is to create enough contrasts in your shading which can give the impression of bump.
You can play with lightsources to create shadows here and there, but that might look pretty odd.
