Having carefully studied the surface features of LV-223, the moon where the action took place in the film Prometheus. I tried to recreate the moon as close as possible entirely in Terragen 2.

Looks close to the moon in the movie. I think the clouds are a bit too hard, unless you are going for a volcanic cloud formation.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

The clouds were the most difficult part of the entire render. Eroding the entire terrain was actually the easy part, even down to the alluvial run-offs over the basin. For the clouds, i wanted to see detail in the formations and how the light scatters inside of the clouds. Originally i did go softer but i was lacking details i wanted to see. Of course i can always alter the clouds again for a more softer look and try and keep the details i want.

Nice!

Never worked on special clouds till yet, seems to be not so easy..
But just seen the MPC making of of LV-223 few days ago:

Clouds still need work but i have been sidetracked with other renders. I just looked at hi-res photos for reference material to recreate this scape. I will have to take a gander at that video at some point.

That is awesome man. Keep up the great work.

Good background. Might be nice to play with the lighting a bit. Just try a few things to see if there is a better solution.
