hello there!

I totally new to TG and have seen some amazing renders that blew me away.
I have previously made projects (Also for clients) in VUE and lately I have been playing a bit with World Machine.
However it seems to me WM and TG just works so well together, so I thought I would give it a hit.
I have seen some amazing renderes, where a lot of the result is being accomplished from the powerful shading feature TG has.
Eg:

What are the possibilities to export maps for eg. Real Time purpose?
Would it be possible to export a displacement map(I already know that is possible with TG) along with a diffuse map and normal map for the rocks ?
I'm very interested in learning more about the possibilities in terms of exporting textures.

Can't wait to learn and share what I do along way!
Have a nice day everyone.

Cheers.

Welcome. You can export Lightwave 3D mesh objects if they are heightfields. You use the micro exporter in the render settings.

Exporting diffuse maps and normal maps is more difficult, but should be possible. I will try to find the video tutorials for this.

Thanks a lot Henry for your reply.
Ok. Was hoping it was possible to export the heightmap to RAW or similar, similar to Vue and World Machine?
I will see if its possible to create a splatmap (RGB) and export that. It could probably be done by changing the diffuse colors to solid red, solid green, solid blue and then use that as a splatmap and import to game engine. That way it would be possible to have some detailmaps when close up and then the diffuse can be used for "far distance".
What I really love about World Machine is the ability to export the various maps, say wear map etc.
I know TG is a rendering tool too, but the more common use of TG /World machine landscapes  in video games, a feature to export various maps would just hit the bulls eye.

Currently export of terrain data through built-in (i.e. purpose-built) tools is limited to heightfield and terrain geometry export. You can export heightfields in Terragen TER format or OpenEXR. You can export geometry in LWO, OBJ, and now FBX as of 2.5 (licensed version only). Exporting texturing/color data, etc. is not natively supported, but can essentially be done using orthographic camera, flat lighting, and standard renders. But it's not ideal, and won't be UV mapped to the terrain geometry.
