Yeah, yeah, so my renderings suck.  :D  Maybe this will inspire one of you to do something better with the Yosemite terrain ( http://www.ashundar.com/page.php?id=320 ). Any takers?

I'm working on the Donahue Pass shot from the photo link posted by Sethren.

It may be awhile though, I have a couple of other projects in the oven. :)

Hey your renders do get better as you keep going. :)

Thank you - I am trying.   :)

Valley floor needs a few items - more trees, the Merced river... the roads... the Awahnee ... 20,000 tourists with their dogs, kids, cars, campfires, tents, RVs...  the little strip mall...

I did get a bit of the smog, though.

;D

Some of those things could be left out i.e.. people, tents and RV's. ;)

I think I'm going to model one of those nice ergonomically designed concrete picnic tables and rustic, natural-looking metal cylinder fire pits/grills (would you ever eat anything that actually touched one of those things?) that are at all the campsites, then try a shot looking up at El Cap with a campsite in the foreground.

And maybe throw in tourists, dogs, kids, cars, RVs, the little strip mall...

Sounds like fun, look forward to seeing it.

LOL

Would like to see that strip mall...
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I'm not kidding about the strip mall, dude - it's really there.  :P

Yup!     ::)

Your trees look to scale which is nice. Just add a few hundred more.      ;D
I have more photos showing that there are small dark dullish green shrubs along much if the slopes rising up near the top elevations from the valley floor but i wish i knew what type of shrubs these are.
