Born near Rotterdam in the Netherlands, his fascination of nature and passion for drawing naturally led him to Terragen 0.9 around 2002. He was inspired by early Terragen pioneers such as Luc Bianco and Lutz B.
Martin is a partner at New World Digital Art and is busy creating his own personal website CG
Scenery.com displaying the many works from his portfolio and acting as an online resource for Terragen 2 tutorials.
He maintains that every landscape created digitally in Terragen will exist for real somewhere in our infinite universe.

Frank Basinki is a veteran Terragen artist, and the owner and founder of New World Digital Art, also known as "NWDA" - an online store for Terragen content and tutorials. His Terragen career started in year 2000 with an early version of Terragen classic. He became active in the community by writing tutorials for Terragen Classic, and later on for Terragen 2. As an artist, Frank prefers to work on still images, and is mostly focused on achieving photo realistic results. Frank lives in Germany with his family, likes to read fiction, go on bicycle tours, listen to some pretty heavy music, cook, be with friends, and above all, spend time with his kids.

Danny Gordon has six years of intense involvement with Terragen. Attracted to the scene buildings aspects of Terragen from his experience of stage lighting, set building and props production, Danny is a great supporter to the Terragen community and sets regular competitions at his Renderosity forum. Born in New Jersey USA he is a draftsmen in the avionics industry as well as being a beer aficionado. Today Danny Gordon is heavily involved with Digital Arts, as a moderator for Renderosity's Terragen forum. Much of his time these days is spent getting Danny Gordon Digital Arts off the ground, selling Prints and animations to private and professional clients. See
www.dannygordon20.deviantart.comRon Miller is a prolific illustrator and author living in South Boston, Virginia specializing in science, astronomy, science fiction and fantasy, with Terragen regularly used as part of his toolset. In addition to providing artwork for many magazine and book publishers, he is the author, co-author or editor of some fifty-odd books (some odder than others), including several novels. Miller's books include the Hugo awarded "The Art of Chesley Bonestell", Hugo-nominated "The Grand Tour", "Cycles of Fire", "In the Stream of Stars" and "The History of Earth." He has designed postage stamps and worked on motion pictures including Dune and Total Recall and worked on preproduction concepts, consultation and matte art for David Lynch, George Miller, John Ellis, UFO Films and James Cameron. A selection of the winning artists will be appearing as guest hosts in this webinar and will talk about their notable creations and answer questions from the attendees.

SATURDAY 19th JANUARY 2013 at 19:30 GMT - "SCENE BUILDING#1"Martin Huisman will cover user interface aspects on the node network in this session, but many parts of it will also cover scene building, During this session a scene will be built from scratch using a World-Machine 2 based heightfield.
It will demonstrate how to understand the rules which apply to the node network and how to make the best use of them, as well as how to avoid common mistakes.
1 - Node network workflow and hierarchy, how is the network structured? how to interpret what needs to be done where?
2 - Importing heightfields/clipfiles into your scene.
3 - Detailing terrain using redirect shader, strata & outcrops and a voronoi based function network
4 - Restricting these displacements by altitude/slope.
5 - Shading the landscape.
6 - Adding fake stones.
7 - Adding water.
The summary and all resource files, except for the scene objects, will be available for download.
Level: The level is aimed at beginners to intermediate. A few aspects of the scene might be considered as advanced.
SATURDAY 19th JANUARY at 21:00 GMTAtmospherics master Frank Basinski will present a clouds tutorial.
Level : Recommended for intermediate to advanced users.
1 - How to go from the default skies and clouds to some realistic looking cumulus clouds
2 - How to make a monster cumulonimbus clouds and make it look real! (The last part is the hard part, but I will tell you all the tricks)
3 - if time permits: The secret sauce for amazing sunsets!

SUNDAY 29th JANUARY at 19:30 GMT - "SCENE BUILDING #2"Martin Huisman will continue his tuition on the user interface aspects on the node network in this session.
During this session a scene will be built from scratch using a World-Machine 2 based heightfield.
1 - Importing trees/grasses into your scene.
2 - Object/population placement into your scene.
3 - Masking populations.
4 - Managing population sizes.
5 - Tweaking populations' appearance, add natural variation through various methods.
6 - Tweaking objects' shaders.
7 - Background on rendering of objects/populations.
8 - Render recommendations for final project.
Level: The level is aimed at beginners to intermediate. A few aspects of the scene might be considered as advanced.
SUNDAY 29th JANUARY at 21:00 GMT - "USING TERRAGEN COMMERCIALLY"Ron Miller, professional illustrator and author will present the best of his Terragen artwork from his portfolio through an interview style session with the 3D Art Direct magazine editor Paul Bussey.
The presentation will include how Ron uses Terragen on a commercial basis to rapidly create scenes specified by his clients.
This session will include the creation of height maps using Photoshop and importing them into Terragen.
Level: This session is for beginner, intermediate and advanced users.
