VOTING CLOSES BY 16TH JANUARY AT 20:00 GMT!

VOTE NOW!

The first session of the TERRALIVE conference is all about honouring some of the best members of the community and what is deemed to be the best Terragen artwork. We're naming this session "The TOSCARS" (Terragen OSCARS) in basing the event a little like its Hollywood equivalent.

The nominations can include artwork created in TG2 or Terragen Classic.

You can nominate in each category a single image (please supply the web address or forum post for the image) and the artist name. There are a few categories at the end that just require a name. It is NOT mandatory that you nominate for every category, but if you do have the energy to do this, then I may just award a TOSCAR to you for doing so!

Now we will be publishing the results of the TOSCARS post to the conference, so even those that are not attending, can vote and still see the winners for each category. But the live conference event will involve some of the winners being invited to the webinar (they can attend for free) to discuss their artwork to the attendees, so there will be added value being at the live event. You can book an $11 ticket just to get into the TOSCARS event here:- http://3dartlive.com/event-registration/?ee=8

There are TWO surveys, that cover the categories below. Make sure you visit both surveys, otherwise we won't be able to have any nominatons for Best Artist  :(

I have sent my nominations. Almost for all categories!

I conveniently used the large image gallery at planetside for picking a few, plus some particular images that I had in mind that were located here on the forums.

The hard part is going to be tracking down all the images that have really inspired me for each category. But OK, I will try to do it too.

Hope everyone else will too.
It has been eaten.

Dune

Indeed, you must dig in your memory and hope to find it again...

DannyG

took me a good 45-60 minutes poking around, then deciding between all of them was another 30 min. It was a great refresher of all the great works that have been created over the years. Worth the time

There is now only until tommorow evening to nominate!

So vote now!

We'll be selecting the winners from the nominees and the winners will be announced at the TERRALIVE TOSCARS event.

There is also an overall "Best Artist" you can vote for as well. Remember you can vote in as few categories as you like.

As requested by Frank, here is the 1080p sample of the Garden of Eternity animation:
http://www.planetside.co.uk/files/videos/GardenRendering_1920x1080_F0001_0135.mp4
Keep in mind that this is from a somewhat earlier revision of the scene and, in particular, the animation settings were not finalized (you can see a bit of flicker on some objects that was later fixed, for example). Still, it's 1080p and minimally compressed, so it should be quite a bit nicer than watching on YouTube.

Enjoy!

Wow that is so cool!

... just 5 sec? :-/

Deserves to be longer!
:-)

otakar

The clarity is astounding! Looking forward to the whole thing...

Tangled-Universe

Thanks Oshyan :)
I hope you don't feel I put you on the spot there :p
I think everybody should see these mere 5 seconds of amazing Terragen output at full HD glory, so thanks again for putting this up!

And yes, deserves longer ;)

Cheers,
Martin

I responded at the other thread too.
I would love to see the full version too.
It looks great  :)

Oshyan

Ohhh, it was you Martin! Thought it was Frank. :D No worries, it was already done, so no reason not to post it. Though just to clarify, we won't be able to provide the full animation at this resolution, at least not any time soon. But future animations...

Tangled-Universe

Well actually I started it, I confess, but Frank really made you do it eventually ;)
