Hi all,

The sunday session of the TerraLive conference will cover adding vegetation to the scene we made before on Saturday.

To see which scene we'll prepare and cover on Saturday, please have a look here:
http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=15513.0

Using this scene as a basis on Sunday I will cover:

1) Importing trees/grasses into your scene
2) Object/population placement into your scene
3) Masking populations
3) Managing population sizes
4) Tweaking populations' appearance, add natural variation through various methods
5) Tweaking objects' shaders
6) Background on rendering of objects/populations
7) Render recommendations for final project

Don't miss the show! Get a Silver or Gold pass today!!!

The sessions will be presented in short chunks and then summarized.
The summary and all resource files, except for the scene objects, will be available for download.

If you have subscribed for the SilverPass for Sunday then you'll also receive the sourcefiles needed for following this session.

The level is aimed at beginners to intermediate. A few aspects of the scene might be considered as advanced.
Based on your self-assesment I'd like to hear how you feel about the content of these sessions?

Thanks in advance,
Martin

PS: Participants will also get a "commercial use" cloud package after the show from NWDA. It contains a lot of good stuff and has a money value of 69 Euro (about 90 USD).

Hi Martin,
Sounds really good to me. The masking of populations for me is one area that I have trouble with, so this should be a great chance to improve my techniques. Got my Gold Pass!

So many aspects of T2 capabilities are displayed in the sample image, truly looking forward to the two sessions.

Your plans for both days sound excellent to me! There's something to be learnt at all levels there.

Martin, thank you so much. Each part of your presentation progressed in a very understandable way, so many of the basic goals of creating believable natural scenes in T2 were shown in detail, but with a simplicity that greatly de-mystifies the more daunting aspects of this software. I am truly indebted to you. The learning curves for any complex piece of software are formidable, in the case of T2, I think even more so given the lack of 'Official' documentation (that is not to belittle the excellent, but incomplete Planetside Wki data).  At this point in time your sessions have definately answered many of my questions in a very practical way. I couldn't have asked for more - thank you again!
